Breaking into the Australian property market can feel like an impossible dream for many first-time buyers. Skyrocketing prices and increasing competition have made it harder than ever to secure that first home. But what if there was a way to simplify the process, reduce the costs, and finally step onto the property ladder?

At Nook Tiny Homes, we believe that owning a home should be within reach for everyone.

Our First Home Owners Guide, available as a FREE download, is packed with insights and actionable steps to make your dream of homeownership a reality - particularly if you're eligible for Queensland's $30,000 First Home Owners Grant.

What Is the QLD First Home Owners Grant?

The Queensland First Home Owners Grant is a game-changer for aspiring homeowners. If you're buying or building a new home that starts construction after November 20, 2024, you could qualify for a $30,000 grant to put toward your new home.

Here’s where Nook Tiny Homes stands out: our container homes are eligible for this grant because they’re built to Australian Building Code standards as Class 1a dwellings. That means you can use the grant to reduce the cost of your home significantly.

For example:

A 2-bedroom Hamptons-style Nook Tiny Home could cost you as little as $75,000 + GST after receiving the grant.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for the grant, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

  • Be buying or building a new home valued under $750,000, including land.

  • Not have owned a home or received a first home concession in Australia before.

  • Move into your home within a year of purchase and live there continuously for six months.

Pro Tip: If you’re planning to place your tiny home on a relatives block of land, you’ll still qualify for the grant!

Why Choose a Nook Tiny Home?

Tiny homes are an innovative, cost-effective alternative to traditional housing. At Nook, we take pride in creating homes that are:

High Quality: Built tough to withstand Australia’s harshest conditions, from bushfires to cyclones.

Customisable: Our homes are a blank canvas for you to add your personal style.

Portable: Relocate your home, expand it, or even sell it later with ease.

Grant-Eligible: Unlike tiny homes on wheels, Nook homes comply with the Australian Building Code as permanent dwellings.

Council Approvals Simplified

We understand that navigating council approvals can be daunting, but we’ve got your back. When you choose Nook, we guide you through every step, from preliminary assessments to final inspections. We even work with trusted town planners to ensure you know exactly what’s possible before you commit to your block of land.

Can I still get the grant with a Tiny Homes on Wheels?

It’s important to note that tiny homes on wheels typically don’t qualify for the QLD First Home Owners Grant. They’re not classified as Class 1a dwellings under the Australian Building Code, which means they also won’t meet council approval for permanent living.

At Nook, we’re focused on building permanent, high-quality container homes that offer stability, safety, and long-term value.

Take the First Step

Our First Home Owners Guide is designed to simplify the process, providing you with all the key details on eligibility, council approvals, and the benefits of choosing a Nook Tiny Home. Whether you’re building on your own block of land or partnering with a relative to place your home on their property, we’ll ensure the process is seamless from start to finish.
